| A new moon
There has been a change in the band line-up! Our guitarist Anthon Johansson has joined our friends/local rivals in Black Bonzo. Replacing him in Moon Safari is Pontus Akesson! Simon’s multi-talented kid brother will bring further depth to our vocals and hopefully new dimensions to the lead guitar! This arrangement works out great for all parties, because while we mourn the loss of one band member, we also celebrate the "birth" of a new moon, and we surely welcome Pontus onboard with open arms! Moon Safari would like to take this opportunity to thank Anthon for his contributions over the years, he will remain a trusted friend of the band and we certainly wish him all the luck in the world with his new endeavour! The second album from mentioned Black Bonzo will arrive shortly; check out www.blackbonzo.com for more info on this exciting release! Our own second album BLOMLJUD is shaping up pretty fast, we are just finishing up the demos and we’ll start the final rehearsals just before Christmas, at this pace we’ll be laying down the drums in February and hopefully get you the finished product around April! We are going all out war on prog this time; the tracks are bigger and certainly more explosive! This is what BLOMLJUD will look like song-wise: 1. The other half of the sky 30.00 2. Bluebells 6.00 3. Moonwalk 10.00 4. The ghost of flowers past. 11.00 5. Methuselah’s children 19.00 + Yasgur´s farm 10.00 (Anthon’s final contribution to the band will be released as a single sometime during the spring) The promises of more photos and video-clips that I have been making lately will probably be realised to coincide with the release of BLOMLJUD, at the moment we are swamped, it’s tough juggling fulltime jobs and making music this intricate, it takes time, time that we don’t really have, but we are not complaining, quite the contrary, the moon has never been this fun! Hopefully it will show on the album! If we don’t hear from each other, From all of us, Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Johan - Moon Safari |

| Summers´ end + New Album As the first cold breeze hits our unexpecting faces we sadly wake from the dream that has filled our lives with joy over the last couple of months, and realise, that summer is crumbling! We apologuise for the recent lack of activity on this page. It seems the sun has stolen most of our attention. But we did make our debut at the local progfestival Trastock. And what a debut it was! People sitting on the grass eating icecream, children playing in the more than warm July sun, progressive rockers smiling at the melodies served on stage....it was great fun and our most rewarding gig to date. It was our first victory at home, and in retrospect i suppose you could say that it brought the first chapter of Moon Safari full circle in a very suiting way. So what now? Well, for starters a very busy writing period awaits us, the new album with the workingtitle BLOMLJUD will be puzzled together during the fall and hopefully the last pieces will come into place as we enter the studio around christmas! The new moon is shaping up to be something special! We are moving forward with optimism, the new songs leaves at least me with a sense of unity and grandeur that i did not really feel when looking back at the pre-production of A doorway to summer. And if i look at the way those songs turned into butterflies along the way, i just know that we´ll be even happier with the result of this one! Right now i have to go, it seems the sun is still blinking behind the clouds, maybe we'll get one last Doorway to Summer, one final sip of energy before we head off into another adventure! Check out the additions in the photosection, we´ll get some videoclips from the corrolating gigs online for your viewing pleasure soon, and we´ll also keep you updated on the progress of the new album continously! For now, just keep spreading the word! Cheerio! Johan - Moon Safari |

| Little Mermaid music + New Gig Hi there! just got back from a wonderful weekend in Gavle! We´d like to thank the guys at live-ARGH and the other bands (QOPH and The Weight), for making our stay a very pleasent one. Our own performance almost came to a halt midway as the electric piano died on us, but we pushed on and surprisingly so did the piano...the progressive gods are on our side i suppose. The gods could not, however, help us with the local newspaper who did not share our musical vision and deemed us...listen to this...Little Mermaid music! Absolutely hilarious! We´ll hopefully get our revenge next weekend as we travel south, to Umeå, to perform at URIX(youth festival) We´ll get back to you on the date, location and so on in a bit... Simma Lungt, Moon Safari |

| Live in Gävle + Big in Cancun Moon Safari is scheduled to perform at LiveArgh-2006 in Gävle on the 13th of May. We will play alongside, among others, our Skellefteå rivals Black Bonzo! It is sure to be a fun night, we'll keep you posted on any changes along the way. I spoke earlier about how our music is spreading to the most unexpected places, and this time it is Cancun, Mexico, which has found its way onto the map. The sunny fellows you see below coined the expression "Big in Cancun" as they, while vacationing in this oasis, found the time to promote Moon Safaris´ music. And look at where they are staying...the Moon Palace! Brilliant, guys! See picture Oh, by the way... A Doorway To Summer is now available at www.progstore.com as well! |

| Yo, hier kommt ein uppdatering! Howdy! It seems our music is spreading to the most unexpected places, www.romanceclass.com tips it´s readers on different romantic classical music, and apparently ours fits that description. Moon Safari? romantic? really? This news will not go down well with the hard-core progfan i can imagine....but they think were Norwegian, maybe that has got something to do with it? Anywho, a well crafted review(look mommy...I can rime!)can be found at www.boborocks.be where the "Album of the week" spot currently belongs to yours truly. This means airplay at Mr Bollenbergs´ radioshow and...a one million dollar cash price? We´ll hopefully be able to give you some interesting live-news in the near future, but in the meantime, you´ll have to make do with this stunning, life-altering revelation, check it out: movie.. Distribution: Another companion from across the ocean at www.pendragonusa.com. |
